2723. Jonathan Gildersleeve ⁽¹³⁵⁾ was born in 1734 in Hempstead, Long Island, Queens, Nassau County, New York. He died on 7 Dec 1816 in Hempstead, Long Island, Queens, Nassau County, New York. He was buried in St. George's. Jonathan was a "torie captured by Whigs in Hempstead Swamp" in 1776 before
the British conquered Long Island in the Revolution. He, a prominent loyalist,
he had three daughters married to British soldiers but not until the was was
over. He was a vestryman of St. George's Episcopal Church, 1799-1802.

North Hempstead, Kings County; 2 male over 16, 1 male under 16, 6 females.
