Moved to Clinton, Dutchess County, New York, 1769. Census 1790, Dutchess
County, 3 M -16, m M +16, 5 F. Will dated 11 September 1790, Poughkeepsie,
Dutchess County. He was an expert wagon maker. He and his wife were
Episcopalians but later in life were converted to the Quaker faith. Married by
Rev. Samuel Seabury, St. George's Church.

He was married to Mary Hall on 17 Jun 1751 in Hempstead, Long Island, Queens, Nassau County, New York. Mary Hall⁽¹³⁵⁾ was born in 1732 in Hempstead, Long Island, Queens, Nassau County, New York. She died in 1823 in Clinton, Dutchess, New York. Will dated 4 December 1814, prived 18 August 1823. Henry Gildersleeve and Mary Hall had the following children:
