(Note from John LaPiana, researcher: Once again, I think that this is yours and it appears that Catherine has died. You note she died 1867, so that appears to be the case. I am now wondering if Amy (could it be Ann?) is the wife of Philip? However, the order is just as it appears in the census. And heavens only knows what the last name is, I read it best I could!

He was married to Catherine Eliza DeLong on 11 Dec 1828 in Washington Twp., Dutchess County, New York. Catherine Eliza DeLong (135) was born on 23 Jun 1813 in Washington Twp., Dutchess County, New York. She died on 8 Oct 1867 in Macedon Center, Wayne County, New York. She has reference number 17. Pioneers of Macedon, 1912, in reference to a cemetery east and north of Macedon
Center, in use 1811-1843 with about 17-18 burials, includes among them "Joshua
Delong and wife, parents of Mrs. John Gildersleeve, Sr., and a younger Joshua.
Since Joshua died 1876 and Catherine Gildersleeve is not named as a daughter in
his will, nor is she indicated by the 1820 census, it would seem reasonable to
assume the 1912 publication confused Joshua and John, and that John and wife
went to Wayne County after 1830 and were buried there before 1843.

DAR 650299 accepts Catherine as daughter of John using 1820 census. John Gildersleeve and Catherine Eliza DeLong had the following children:

child5144 i. Mary Jane Gildersleeve was born on 28 Aug 1831 in Macedon, Wayne County, New York. She died on 19 Mar 1832 in Macedon, Wayne County, New York.
child+5145 ii. John Wesley Gildersleeve.
child+5146 iii. Philip Lewis Gildersleeve.
child+5147 iv. Harriet "Hattie" Eva Petronella Gildersleeve.

child+5150 vii. Charles Edward Gildersleeve.

Hannah has Ancestral File number B98J-2B.
