1971 in Glendale, Los Angeles, California. Born at Glendale Adventist Hospital,
1509 Wilson Terrace, Glendale, California.
Jon was adopted by George and Kaethe Gilderlseeve when he was 3 and 1/2 years
old. He had already been rejected by two foster homes and one adoptive home
before the Gildersleeves. He was a severely troubled child and was diagnosed
by Doctor Susan Dragovich, Clinical Psychologist, Bend, Oregon, as having an
attachment disorder which was manifested by his troubled first 3 and 1/2 years.
He didn't know his father and his mother gave him up on Christmas Day. With
the Gildersleeve's he was determined dangerous to their daughter, Alison, and
was made a ward of the State of Oregon and sent to St. Mary's home for boys in
Beaverton, Oregon. He was there two years when one year is considered the
maximum but the alternative was McLaren, an institution for minors. Upon his
release he soon wed and maintained a responsible job. However, he decided he
wanted to visit his birth mother and his two natural half sisters in San
Francisco. The experience was traumatizing and he is currently living in San
Francisco unable to work and in extensive counseling. He probably also suffers
from fetal alcohol syndrome.
He was divorced from Katherine Melo.
Katherine Melo(13) was born
on 30 Dec 1970. Jon Simon Gildersleeve (adopted) and Katherine Melo had the
