Nathaniel
FOSTER was born on 19 Sep 1678 in Ipswich, Essex, MA.
(3454) Savage (473, Page 189) is quite certain that this Reginald
did indeed have all of these marriages and children well into old age. It would
appear, therefore, that Reginald was 84 when Nathaniel was born. Parents:
Reginald FOSTER and Sarah.
Prudence
FOSTER was born on 23 May 1675 in Ipswich, Essex, MA.
(3455) Parents: Isaac FOSTER and
Mary JACKSON.
Reginald
FOSTER was born about 1595 in Exeter, Devonshire, England.
(3456) It is "supposed" that he was born about this date
at or near Exeter. Cutter (640) say he was born in Barmton, Darlington, Durham,
England. He emigrated before 26 Sep 1638.(3457)
(3458)
(3459)(3460) Came with his
wife Judith, five sons, and two daughters. He moved before 26 Sep 1638 to Ipswich,
Massachusetts Bay Colony.(3461) He
purchased a house and lands on 26 Sep 1638 in Ipswich, Massachusetts Bay Colony.

(3469) At the time, he owned Plum and
Hog Island. He died in 1681 in Ipswich, Essex, MA.
(3470)(3471)
(3472) He left, according to his inventory, £744 (including £
in real estate) on 9 Jun 1681 in Ipswich, Essex, MA.
(3473)(3474)He married to Sarah on 20 Sep 1665 in Ipswich, Essex, MA. (3475)(3476) Savage (473, Page 189) is quite certain that this Reginald did indeed have all of these marriages and children well into old age. Savage points out that the last child was born 56 years after the first. It would appear, therefore, that Reginald was 84 when Nathaniel was born. Children were: Ruth FOSTER, Ellen FOSTER, Hannah FOSTER, Nathaniel FOSTER.
He married to Judith WIGNOL? about 1618. (3477) I have followed the claim of Savage (473) that Reginald married two different wives named Judith and that those children born in the 1660s are attributed to this second Judith. I am not sure where I saw that Judith's surname might be WIGNOL but it is uncertain. Children were: Sarah FOSTER, Abraham FOSTER, Mary FOSTER, Reginald FOSTER, Isaac FOSTER, William FOSTER, Jacob FOSTER.
He married to Judith #2 about 1659.(3478) I assumed that they were married done year prior to the birth of their fist child. Children were: Judith FOSTER, Mary FOSTER, John FOSTER.

County Militia about 1775 in American Revolution (1775-1783).
(3514) Served in siege of Boston 1775. He moved before 1788 to Rensselaerville,
Albany, NY.(3515) The family settled
what was called Pisgah Hill or Meetinghouse Hill prior to the 1786 surveying
and 1791 incorporation of Rensselaerville (251). He Built a house on Meeting
House Hill in Pisgah (now Kropp's Hill). Pisgah is 2 miles SW of hamlet in 1788/89

Deacon Ebenezer FRISBEE and Silence BROCKETT.
He married to Margaret HOLLY on 16 Feb 1758 in Sharon,
Litchfield, CT.(135)
(3523)(3524)
(3525) In 1775 and 1776, Benjamin FRISBEE probably served in the Revolution
as a Private from New York under Colonel Hinman (there were a few other Benjamin
FRISBIE/FRISBEEs living at this time but they do not seem as likely to have served).
In 1775, Benjamin may have then participated in the siege of Boston and the autumn
invasion of Canada. On 27 Aug 1776 Battle of Long Island, however, Benjamin is
listed as missing. It would appear that he had deserted and went home which was
a common practice among soldiers then (189).
By 1788, Benjamin and family were among the first residents of the frontier town
of Rensselaerville, Albany, NY. Rensselaerville had only been survey to yeas
prior in 1786 and would not be organized as a town until 1791, several years
later. "In 1788 or 1789, Benjamin and his sons John and Reuben built a frame
house and store on Pisgah or Meetinghouse Hill which is said to have been of
extraordinary dimensions for its time" (189).
In 1788, Benjamin was appointed Rensselaerville's first Justice of the Peace.
In 1793, Benjamin was an organizer of the Presbyterian Church. In 1795, Benjamin
was appointed overseer of the poor (189).
It is odd that in 1790, only four children were living with Benjamin and Margaret,
but 6 were living with them in 1800. In 1810, Margaret was not listed in the
census and was probably living with one of her sons (189). Children were:
Sarah FRISBEE, Sargeant Thomas FRISBEE,
John FRISBEE, Dr. Reuben FRISBEE,
Benjamin FRISBEE, Rufus FRISBEE,

in Windsor, NY (near Binghamton) in the early days of the Civil War (18).
Carrie was a housewife. At the time of her death, Carrie was living in Round
Lake, Saratoga County, NY. She began to suffer from cardiovascular disease. She
died two years later. At that time, she was living with her daughter Ethel, my
grandmother, in Niskayuna. A doctor had seen her a week prior to her death. It
would appear that Carrie got very sick and Ethel took care of her for weeks/years
before she died (who said this - dad?). Children were:

in Jonesville. According to his death certificate, he died exactly 10 years
later on 2 Feb 1903 from a an embolism coronary something (heart attack?). .
He was buried on 5 Feb 1903 in Jonesville Cemetery, Clifton Park, Saratoga,

Deacon
Ebenezer FRISBEE was born on 14 Apr 1705 in Branford, New Haven, CT.
(135)(3547)
(3548) He moved in 1739 to Sharon,
Litchfield, CT.(3549) From 1738 to
1740, settlements began in the unsettled wilderness Litchfield County in northwestern
Connecticut. The surveyed land was divided into townships and sold at auctions,
and shares allotted to the purchasers. About 1739, Ebenezer FRISBIE moved to
a remote area in this wilderness that became Sharon Township. Edward was a surveyor
and was employed to lay out lands of the early township. He became one of its
earliest settlers and lived there until his death. Edward was a Deacon of the
Congregational Church for nearly his entire residence in the town. He also became
a leader in town affairs. Also see my biography on David HAMILTON, another ancestors
of mine, who was among the very first settlers of Sharon, CT. He was a Surveyor
after 1739 in Sharon, Litchfield, CT.(3550)
According to Sedgwick's History of Sharon, "He was much employed
in laying out lands in the early location of the township. He was a Commissioner
of Sharon in 1741 in Sharon, Litchfield, CT.(3551)
In 1741, he is one of the commissioners who allotted lands. He was a
Sharon Town Clerk between Dec 1743 and Jan 1746 in Sharon, Litchfield, CT.
(3552) He served on a committee between
1751 and 1753 in Sharon, Litchfield, CT.(3553)
In 1751, he was on a committee to secure Reverend Cotton Mather Smith
to preach in Sharon. They must have been successful because Rev. Smith was employed
to preach in 1754. In 1780, Rev. Smith witnessed my ancestor David HAMILTON signing
his will.
He married to
Silence BROCKETT on 24 Dec 1731.(135)

the same. This is probably a repeated mistake. Neither are trustworthy. Parents:

is a charming bed-and-breakfast inn. It continues the 50-year tradition of warm
hospitality set by Edith Lounsbury who operated a boarding house here from 1922
to 1972. The house, originally a federal structure, has been twice enlarged with
