(4025) Thomas GOFFE was Joanna's brother. He and Robert Land were among those that financed the 1620 Mayflower voyage as well as trips in 1629 and 1630. Thomas was awarded the estate but died during his own emigration to New England leaving only a daughter Sarah. The estate was then awarded to Sarah but she died shortly after her father without any family, so the estate was passed onto her aunt Joanna, her closest surviving kin. In 1739, one of the surviving heir of the family sued for a 1/26 share of the estate (there were at that time 26 family members claiming heirship).
