She married to Dov Ber (Jacob) RIEMER.(251) (252) Becky DAMESEK's death certificate names her parents as Jacob and Peshe RIEMER of Russia. The informant on her DC was "wife" which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Phyllis says Dove Ber was the brother of Rabbi Raphael RIEMER. He fathered at least three children: Rebecca, a son Abrash and another daughter, but Rebecca was the only sibling to immigrate to the America. He was probably born in Vilna like Rebecca. Children were: Sura Rifka (Becky) RIEMER, Abash RIEMER, RIEMER.

bullet Phebe was born on 2 Jan 1787 in White Plains, Westchester, NY. (147)(253) Phebe was born 2 Jan 1787 in White Plains, Westchester, NY according to a family bible copyrighted 1832. (8). The 1787 birth year and Westchester birthplace is confirmed by the 1860 census (128) and 1855 NYS state census (188). This entry, from the same bible, is also in question. An on-line database of the 1790 census for White Plains shows only 216 female inhabitants (none are mentioned by name). She moved between 1855 and 1860 to Preston Hollow, Rensselaerville, Albany, NY. (254) It would appear that William and Phebe decided to move out of the son John's house in town and got a place of their own in Preston Hollow (128). She Slave or indentured servant owner When Peter BRACKETT's wife married second Martin Saunders, they emigrated with four servants in 1635 in Massachusetts.(30) According to the Winthrop Society's ships home page, Rachel came with her second husband Martin Saunders. There are four "servant" listed. I think three is more likely. Martin Saunder (age 4) seems an unlikely servant. Especially since the same sources also list a Martin Saunder age 4 as a child of Martin and Rachel. The other servants were Richard Smith (age 14), Richard Ridley (age 16) and Mary Ffuller (age 17). I assume that these servants were indentured probably though their 21st year.

She married to Peter BRACKETT about 1609.(267) I simply assumed they were married one year before the birth of Richard, the only child for whom I have a birth/baptism date. Children were: Captain Richard BRACKETT, Peter BRACKETT, Anthony BRACKETT, William BRACKETT.

(278)(279) Savage (473, Page 189) is quite certain that this Reginald did indeed have all of these marriages and children well into old age. She married to William SHATTUCK in 1642 in Watertown, Middlesex, MA.(295) (296)(297) (298) Beginning 4 July 1654, William began to acquire considerable additional property, such that William was eventually considered wealthy. He purchased a house and 30 acres from his neighbor, John Clough, on Common Hill near his own estate in Watertown, where he lived for 30 years. He later bought 25 acres of upland, 3 acres of swamp, and one-third part of 12 acres meadowland. He bought a farm at Stony Point. He bought dwelling house and farm from Edward Sanderson. A question arose to the title to some parts to it, and the town voted on 27 Dec 1664 that "William SHATTUCK shall enjoy the land he bought from Sanders provided he pay to Sanders twenty bushels of good merchantable Indian corn to spend in his house." On his property were clay pits which were reserved by the town for brick making. The land stayed in the SHATTUCK family for 100 years. William has been described as a energetic and successful businessman, an honest citizen, and peaceful neighbor. He and his in-laws held a respectable social position in Watertown.

In 1853, genealogist Lemuel SHATTUCK, author of the Shattuck Memorials (108), erected the following memorial to William SHATTUCK on the old graveyad outside Watertown on the road to Cambridge just west of Mount Auburn:
"To perpetuate the memory of WILLIAM SHATTUCK, who died in Watertown, Aug 14 1672, aged 50; the progenitor of the families that has borne his name in America. And of his son JOHN SHATTUCK, who was drowned in the Charlestown ferry Sept 14, 1675 aged 28.
