bullet Daniel PAGE was born on 2 May 1683 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7066)(7067) He died on 7 Apr 1766 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7068) He was an officer in the Revolution. Parents: George PAGE and Sarah LINSLEY.

bullet George PAGE was born in 1635 in Shorne, Kent, England. (7069) He was baptised on 6 Sep 1635 in Shorne, Kent, England. (7070) He was an indentured sevant in 1639 in England.(7071) (7072) George was was 4 years old when his father died in 1639. While his two sisters were adopted by William Page and Sarah Parker, George was placed in a foster home as a servant. Little is known about where or with whom he lived prior to emigrating to America. The genealogist Colonel George W. Page suggests that George may have been placed in the home of William Page, John Parker, or have become an indentured apprentice to a trade. This seemed to be his thinking according to the email that I received from him in 2001. He believes George "had been apprenticed in a seafaring trade such as coppering or ship building." He moved about 1662 to Branford, New Haven, CT. (7073) Colonel George Page believes it was sometime in the "early 1660s." He signed the new Plantation and Church Covenant 20 Jan 1667/68. He was one of many setters who came to Branford in the 1660s, mostly from Whethersfield. He emigrated about 1662 to New England.(7074) George may have become a Puritan through the influence of John PARKER or other PARKER relatives, but life for Puritans was difficult at this time in England and probably influenced his decision to emigrate. He granted land by the town proprietors twice during this month in Dec 1663 in Branford, New Haven, CT.(7075) He took the oath of a freeman on 13 May 1669 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7076) He became a member Congregational Church after 1676 in Branford, New Haven, CT.(7077) At this time, an assessment was made of the value of Branford planter properties. That of George Page was assessed at 46 £. He was an appointed to lay out, along with John Frisbie, a parcel of land the town granted to William Maltby in 1681/82 in Branford, New Haven, CT.(7078) John FRISBIE was the brother of Benoni FRISBIE, who was another direct ancestor of mine. George Page's fields were located in a part of the town known as Scothcap, and now called Page's Cove, which is near the shore and west of the town, near an area in 1992 called Town Neck. According to genealogist George W. Page, Page's Point and Page's Cove are not only still listed on marine charts, but the property was STILL in the possession of the Page family in 1991. The house is used as a summer cottage by Frank Page. In fact, after the house survived a 1938 hurricane, it became a feature in Ripley's Believe it or Not called, "The House that Went to Sea and Returned." He the town granted two acres of land joining his fields in 1681/82 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7079) He signed a will on 10 May 1689 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7080) George willed "his house, land, and movable belongings to his wife Sarah." He left nothing to the church. These were divided between their children after he death. The will was witnessed by John FRISBIE, brother of Benoni FRISBIE, another direct ancestor of mine. He died on 22 Nov 1689 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7081)(7082) He left, according to his inventory, £163 after 22 Nov 1689 in Branford, New Haven, CT. (7083) The Genealogist Colonel George W.. Page calls this estate "fairly large. For comparison, the estate of Mr. Robert Rose, the wealthiest man in town who died in 1665, was valued at 616:17:00 £." Robert Rose was yet another direct ancestor of mine. He was buried in Old Burying Ground, Branford, New Haven, CT. (7071) Since his headstone was made of wood, it has long since desegregated and the exact location of the grave is unknown.

He married to Sarah LINSLEY about 1663 in America.(7084) (7085) (7086) Children were: John PAGE, Sarah PAGE, Samuel PAGE, George PAGE, Jonathan PAGE, Hannah PAGE, Nathaniel PAGE, Daniel PAGE.

bullet Bridget PALMER(7110) Parents: William PALMER and Second wife.

bullet Henry PALMER(7110) Parents: William PALMER and Second wife.

bullet William PALMER was born about 1611.(7111) He took the oath of a freeman in Jan 1634/35 in Plymouth Colony. (7112) He died before Aug 1636 in Plymouth, Plymouth Colony. (7113) This is the date of his inventory. He died before his father. Parents: William PALMER and Frances.

bullet William PALMER(7110) was born about 1585 in England. There is much speculation about his birthplace and year of birth. He Slave or indentured servant owner Emigrated with a servant named Carvanyell. Later had several servants and apprentices between 1621 and 1633 in Plymouth Colony.(7114) (7115)(7116) In 1621, PALMER Emigrated with a servant named Carvanyell. He later had several servants and apprentices in New England.

On 23 Jul 1633, William Mendloue, a servant of William PALMER, was whipped for "attempting uncleanes" with PALMER's maidservant and for running away (he was captured by an Indian named Penwatechet). PALMER sold Mendloue to Richard Church for £3. Mendloue was required to serve Church for a full seven years in exchange for learning carpentry and two suits of clothes.

On Aug 15 1633, Palmer purchased the remainder of a contract on Robert Baker, a servant to the carpenter John Thorpe, who had just died, from his widow Alice Baker. Baker would serve PALMER and learn nailing and PALMER was to provide two suits of clothes. PALMER owed a debt to an estate for a servant. He emigrated on 11 Nov 1621 to Plymouth, Plymouth Colony.(7117) (7118) (7119) William came in the Fortune in 1621 with son William and a servant. He was probably considerably well off to afford a servant. His wife Frances came in the Ann in 1623. He shared in the division of cattle in 1627 in Plymouth, Plymouth Colony.(7120) He moved between 1632 and 1637 to Duxbury, Plymouth Colony. (7121)(7122) He Sold house and six acres at Reed Pond for £35 on 16 Oct 1632 in Plymouth, Plymouth Colony.(7123) He took the oath of a freeman in 1633 in Plymouth Colony.(7124) He was appointed one of five men to lay out highways between 1634 and May 1637 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony.(7125) He signed a will on 7 Nov 1637 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony. (7126)(7127) (7128) Save says 4 Dec 1637. In his will, he says that he believes that his young wife Mary may be pregnant. The child was born after his death. William converted his estate to cash. He gave one third to his young wife Mary. A second third to his new born son ("in case shee be with child"), 40 shillings each to his Children in England Henry and Bridgett ("if they be living"), and 40 shillings to John Willis. He also said that if Mary was not pregnant than the remainder of his estate should go to his grandchild Rebecca and Moses ROWLEY in trust until they are of age. He died after 7 Nov 1637 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony.(7129) He left, according to his inventory, on 13 Nov 1637 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony. (7130) He had an estate probated on 4 Dec 1637 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony.(7131) Savage says 5 Mar 1638 He was a nailer (maker of hand-made nails). (7132)(7133)

He married to Mary before Aug 1636. (7134) Children were: William PALMER.

He married to Frances on 30 Jan 1608. (7135) Torry says questions the date of this marriage. Some say Frances was much younger than William. Some claim her surname was PLUMBER; other says BLOSSOM. Children were: Sarah PALMER?, William PALMER.

He married to Second wife between 1627 and 1637.(7136) Henry and Bridgett stayed in England. Children were: Henry PALMER , Bridget PALMER.

bullet William PALMER was born on 26 Jun 1638 in Duxbury, Plymouth Colony. (7137)(7138) The child was born AFTER the death of his father William Sr., who mentions in his will that he suspects that his young wife was pregnant. Parents: William PALMER and Mary.

bullet Sarah PALMER?(7110) was born in 1609. I'm not sure where I go this date from. The Great Migration Begins says that William PALMER was probably the father of Sarah but her given and surnames are uncertain. Daniles (648) discusses at length that "there is no hard evidence" that Sarah was the daughter of William PALMER.

I have seen a source which says She died before 1633. (7139)(7140) She emigrated. There is some argument over whether her brother William Jr. came with his father or mother. Since some argue that Sarah is not even Francis' daughter, I image that her emigration will be quite difficult to nail down. Parents: William PALMER and Frances.

She married to Henry ROWLEY about 1630 in Plymouth, Plymouth Colony. (7141)(7142) (7143) Henry Rowley's first wife may have been a daughter of William Palmer, but there is no documentation that her name was "Sarah" although some references proclaim that to be the case. The tenuous connection is that William's will mentions "Moses Rowley that I love" but does not define the relationship. Some references assume that Moses was a grandchild of William. There is one however that claims Moses was Palmer's servant. He did have many servants and apprentices. MacGunnigle (478) says, "there is no evince that Henry Rowley's first wife was named Sarah. it is almost certain that she was daughter of William Palmer." Children were: Joesph ROWLEY, Sarah ROWLEY, Moses ROWLEY.

(7179)(7180) Little is known about Samuel PARSONS other than he was an early setter of East Hampton and therefore, one of the first English residents in New York State. English Puritans founded Southampton in 1640, when the first boatload came ashore at what is now North Sea. A woman was the first to step ashore and said, "For conscience sake, we are on dry land." A plaque was placed near that spot that reads, "Near this spot in June 1640 landed the first colonists from Lynn, mass who founded Southampton, the first English settlement in the state of New York."Soon after, others came from Southold, LI, Connecticut and Massachusetts. In 1648, eastern Long Island was purchased from several Indian tribes by Theophilus Eaton and Edward Hopkins. These were the Governors of New Haven and Connecticut Colonies, respectively.
