Captain Bezaleel TYLER was born on 26 Feb 1745 in Sharon, Litchfield, CT.⁽⁹²²²⁾⁽⁹²²³⁾⁽⁹²²⁴⁾ He served as a soldier in Cochecton Company of the Second Ulster County regiment of the New York State Militia between 1775 and 1779 in American Revolution (1775-1783).⁽⁹²²⁵⁾ The Tories tried to belittle him by calling him "Captain Mush." Captain TYLER was killed by Indians at the Battle of Minnisink. He died on 22 Jul 1779 in Minnisink, Orange, NY.⁽⁹²²⁶⁾⁽⁹²²⁷⁾ "Brave Captain Tyler," as he was called in the official report on the Battle of Minnisink, was killed by Mohawk Indians alined with the British. His wife was pregnant with his child. He was buried in 1840 in Goshen, Orange, NY.⁽⁹²²⁸⁾ In 1840, he bones of the slain, still laying on the battlefield after 60 years, were gather together and disposed in a common grave in a park in Goshen, NY. A monument was erected elected to commentate the battle and to commented the battle. The name of Bezaleel TYLER is the second name on listed. He was a Jutice of the Peace before 1760 in Sharon, Litchfield, CT.⁽⁹²³⁶⁾ He moved in 1760 to Cochecton, Sullivan, NY.⁽⁹²³⁷⁾ The area was first settled by Connecticut colonialists in 1757. The entire area then, on both sides of the river, was called Cochecton. Over the years, the family was much harassed by Indians. In 1763, the Indians raided Cochecton. Tyler's family fled through the woods to the Hudson River. The did not return for a year. In 1778, after another Indian raid, they moved to a more thickly settled area of the valley. "Befall was drew them all to safety from marauding band of Indians by crossing a stream ands doubling doubling trial so successfully as to baffle the enemy, and the family escaped through an unbroken wilderness of fifty miles, to the fortified settlement of Port Jervis, NY." He died on 29 Jul 1796 in Cochecton, Sullivan, NY.⁽⁹²³⁸⁾ He was buried in Old Cochecton Cemetery.⁽⁹²³⁹⁾ Parents: Bezaleel TYLER and Abigail JOHNSON.

I found an undocumented source which provided the following, "Bezaleel and Abigail took care of Charles Tyler, Bezaleel's insane father, for about twenty-six years." Bezaleel cared for his father Charles during the last 30 years of his life when he had become demented. Emmalinda Linsay (Minnie) TYLER was born on 1 Sep 1836 in Damascus, Wayne, PA.⁽⁷²⁰⁴⁾⁽⁷⁵⁰⁾⁽⁹²⁷⁴⁾ Her birth in Wayne Co PA is confirmed by the 1875 census. She died on 15 Jun 1924 in Windsor, Broome, NY.⁽⁷²⁰⁴⁾⁽⁷⁵⁰⁾ Died after suffering from heart disease for two years of an arterial embolism (203). She was buried on 18 Jun 1924 in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor, Broome, NY.⁽⁷²⁰⁴⁾ Parents: Elliott TYLER and Ellen PIERCE .

She married to Akin V DIBBLE before 1855.⁽²⁴⁰⁹⁾ According to 121, "Mr. and Mrs. A.V. Dibble were faithful churchgoers and with their family of six children, came to Windsor ever Sunday, rain or shine, to attend church or Sunday school, riding in a surrey, or in a sleigh during the winter time, drawn by a team of horses." Children were: George M DIBBLE, Grace I DIBBLE, Horton P DIBBLE, Frank Segal DIBBLE, Tyler E DIBBLE, Charles Jabez DIBBLE.

Roger TYLER emigrated before 1650.⁽⁹³²⁶⁾ He died on 27 Jan 1673/74 in New Haven, New Haven, CT.⁽⁹³²⁷⁾⁽⁹³²⁸⁾ Savage says he died in NH.

He married to Ann about 1656.⁽⁹³²⁹⁾ This is a very rough estimate. I assumed that they were married one year before the birth of the earliest known birth of their children. On 12 May 1638, the General Court in Hartford empowered Peter and Francis TYLER to make sale of the house, barn, and half acre lot belonging to their father Charles "who had been for a considerable time and still remains in a distracted man" for the payment of his debts. Charles apparently suffered from mental illness for the remaining 30 years of his life. Children were: Charles TYLER, Peter TYLER, Francis TYLER, George TYLER, Roger TYLER.
