bullet Ammiel WEEKS was born in 1633.(9582) He died on 20 Apr 1679.(9583) Parents: George WEEKS and Jane CLAPP .

bullet Elizabeth WEEKS was born on 16 Sep 1653 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (9584)(9585) (9586) She was christened on 18 Sep 1653 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (9587) She died before 1656 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (9588) Parents: William WEEKS and Elizabeth ATHERTON.

bullet Elizabeth WEEKS was christened on 14 Sep 1656 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (9589) Parents: George WEEKS and Jane CLAPP.

bullet George WEEKS was born about 1600 in Devonshire, England. (9590) He emigrated on 30 May 1630. (9591)(9592) (9593) According to the Mary and John Clearinghouse, he appears on the list of immigrants arriving 30 May 1630 (http://www.maryandjohn1630.com/vol17.html). This conflicts with the 1635 date cited by such sources as Clapp's History of Dorchester and Robert Weeks in his 1885 Genealogy of the Family of George Weeks of Dorchester, Mass. However, Robert Weeks in his 1892 Genealogy of the Family of George Weeks of Dorchester, Mass says that George could NOT have come in 1635 because he was in Exeter, Devon, England on 6 Sep 1636 witnessing the will of William Clapp Jr. (the signature matches Dorchester records). He also lived in Salcombe Regis as late as October 1636 (although perhaps this is the date the property was sold - in which case he need not be living there). Now Robert Weeks states in his 1885 Genealogy that George was in 1649 appointed one of three trustees who returned to England. So, to explain all of this, if he made a return trip in 1649, he must have made an earlier one in order to have come by 1630 and but be in England in 1636.

According to the Mary and John Clearinghouse, "On 20 March 1630 the ship Mary & John sailed from Plymouth, England, with 140 passengers. The families were all recruited by the Rev. John White of Dorchester, Dorset. Nearly all of these families came from the West Country of England, i.e. counties of Somerset, Dorset and Devon. The ship landed in New England, on 30 May 1630, two weeks before the Winthrop Fleet arrived. These people founded one of the first towns in Massachusetts, Dorchester, 1630, and one of the earliest in Connecticut, Windsor, five years later. After a descendant of these passengers found that he had 18 ancestors aboard this ship he began a study an in depth study of these families and eventually the Mary & John Clearing House, in 1985."
He was Selectman between 30 May 1630 and 1659 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony.(9594) (9595) He served for several years as a Dorchester selectman, including 1645, 1647, and 1648. He Granted cow pastures on 2 Jan 1637 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony.(9596) He took the oath of a freeman on 13 May 1640 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (9597) He was One of two people appointed to oversee the measuring of a cow pasture land division on 6 Jan 1644 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony.(9598) He died on 28 Dec 1650 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony. (9599)(9600) Savage is pretty sure of this death date and argues that the 27 Oct 1659 date in Dorchester records is incorrect. He died without a will, but that of his wife Jane is quite informative. He left, according to his inventory, on 22 Jan 1651 in Dorchester, Suffolk, MA.(9601)

Even if they belong to wife Jane's second husband Jonas HUMPHREY, Jane does NOT mention any of them in her will. I tempted to delete them. He became a member Dorchester church on 11 Mar 1677/78 in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay Colony.(9625) He died before Oct 1714.(9626) (9627) Died "on an expedition to Canada."
