"William Gregory was born at the old Gregory place near Ballardsville on April 8, 1882. For several years after his father died in 1899 he helped support his mother and the younger children. He studied law at the famous old law school, Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tennessee. where Cordell Hull and many others received their legal training. He also studied law in the office of Boggan & Leake at Tupelo, Mississippi.
On November 9, 1909, William Gregory was licensed to practice law at Wheatley, Arkansas. He attended the Southern Baptist Seminary at Louisville, Kentucky, for two years, 1910-1911 and 1911-1912. Having become a Baptist minister, he was pastor of the church at Earlington, Kentucky, for two years and later held pastorates at Hazen, Wheatley, and Lonoke, Arkansas.
He returned to the practice of law at Searcy, Arkansas, in 1931. In 1933 President Roosevelt appointed him Federal Attorney at Little Rock, Arkansas, upon the recommendation of Senator Joseph T. Robinson. He has held the position since that time.
He was married in 1913 to Ruby Grace Sisk at Earlington, Kentucky......

"William Hugh Gregory, attorney at law, successfully engaged in practice in DeValls Bluff, was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi in 1882, a son of F.M. and Ella Beene Gregory. The father was a native of Union County, South Carolina and his parents were Hugh and Nancy Turner Gregory. The grandfather was also a native of South Carolina, while his father came from Virginia and was of Scotch-Irish extraction."

He was married to Ruby Grace SISK in 1913.⁽¹⁴⁾ William Hugh GREGORY and Ruby Grace SISK had the following children:
