8. William M. (Willis) MCFADDEN was born in 1829 in Marion Co., AL. He USCensus in 1850 in Itawamba Co., MS.⁽⁴⁰⁾ He USCensus in 1860 in Itawamba Co., MS.⁽⁴¹⁾ He served in the military about 1862.⁽⁴²⁾ He was a Confederate Private in Co.I, 4th Regt., MS Calvery. He died on 1 May 1863 in Maury Co., TN.^(43)(42) He was killed in a battle near Franklin Co., TN. He was buried in Spring Hill Cem., Maury Co., TN.⁽⁴²⁾ He is buried there with several other Confederate Solders. He was a penmanship teacher. He wrote his wife a letter before they were married. Fern Taylor of Little Rock Arkansas has the original letter.

He was married to Sarah A. J. DAVISON (daughter of James DAVISON and Sarah) in 1854 in Marion Co., AL. Sarah A. J. DAVISON⁽⁴⁴⁾ was born on 22 Mar 1836 in York Co., SC. She died on 12 Jun 1923 in Itawamba Co., MS. She was buried in Salem Cem., Itawamba Co., MS. Fern Taylor has letters dated 1850-63 to Sarah Davison from William McFadden. One is about his death. William M. (Willis) MCFADDEN and Sarah A. J. DAVISON had the following children:
