This information is from research and from relatives, here and gone. The story is that the Levermann's lived in Mecklenberg, Germany. The research that I have gathered from censuses and documents have stated many times the place of residency was Mecklenburg, Germany. The story is They owned a furniture store, and were very wealthy. It was said that the parents were either killed, some how or murdered. The children then went to live with an Aunt that lived in a little village close to Hamburg, after the death of their parents. The two older boys, Frederick H. and Adolph W. Levermann then came to the USA in May of 1879 thru the New York harbor known today as Ellis Island; in 1879 it was called Garden Castle. The ship was the MAIN. They then settled in Corsicana Texas, which is located close to Dallas, Texas. It is stated by relatives that the other children went to France for some time. Where in France is also unknown, and why the younger children were in France is also unknown. Frederick F then returned to Germany and in July 25, 1885 on the ship Wieland to the port of entry of New York, with Bertha, Emma, and Herman. I do know that Eliza Levermann remained in Germany and married a man by the last name of Rhoda (not sure if the spelling is correct) had a daughter that possibility died during WWII. Two brothers by the name of ludwig and August Levermann also remained in Germany. It is known that they did bring all of their possessions with them aboard the ship on their journey to the USA, for they have remained in the family. We do know that they also had an inheritance from the death of the parents.
