Pastor for eleven years and co-founded the Smelterhill Gospel Workers
Church which was a Pentacostal Church devoted to the mine workers and
the poor and elderly of the area. In 1901, John C. helped co-found
the Joblin branch of this church. Funeral services where held at the
Clark funeral chapel with the Rev. Miles C. Cook, pastor of the
Christain Church and the rev. H. A. Felicy, pastor of the Assembly of
God church were in charge.

Notes from Kevin Booe:
The church in Joplin that Jacob founded is called the First Gospel Workers of Joplin. John Cutler, John Dow, and James Neal all pastored that church. James Neal resigned in 1990 due to complications from diabetes. Our family
pastored the church for over 90 years. My grandfather, Dow, nearly pastored it for 50 years. The church was independent from any denomination until the late 1980's when it joined the Pentecostal Church of God which is
headquartered in Joplin. At the peak of its ministry, over 1,000 people worshipped there. Parents: Joseph Jacob Booe and Mary Tague.

Married Catherine Boone a descendent of Squire Boone, father of Daniel
Boone. She was the fifth generation decedent. Mr. Booe, Buies Creek
Academy graduate of 1916 and Campbell College distinguished alumnus of
1970. After completing elementary school in Davie County, North
Carolina, he started working, at age 19, at his father's flour mill
located at Cana, North Carolina. After graduating in 1916 from the
Academy he attended Wake Forest Academy for one year and then entered
the military service. As a chaplin of the 81st Division he served in
France and Germany during the final battles of World War I. A Victory
Medal authorized by the General Assembly, 1919 in session, State of
North Carolina was given to Millard F. Booe, as a North Carolinian,
during World War I, for the State's appreciation of the distinguished
services rendered. Upon his arrival back in the USA in the summer of
1919 he began three years of studing at Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary and of serving as minister to various Baptist Churches along
the Ohio Valley. He retired at the age of 70. Parents: James Chestire Booe and Emma Zilla Ijames.

considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and
declare this my last will
and testament.
1. My executrix hereinafter named shall give my body a decent burial
suitable to the
wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral expenses,
together with my just
debts out of the first money which may come into her hands as part of
and belonging to
my estate.
2. I give and devise to my beloved wife Alpha Booe all of my property
real personal and
mixed of whatsoever kind and wheresoever found to be hers and to have
and to hold to
her and her heirs in fee simple forever.
3. I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Alpha Booe my
lawful executrix
(without bond) to all intents and purposes to execute this my last
will and testament
according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part
