He lived his entire life in Delta County and operated a genral
mercantile business at Mt. Joy and a garage and new car business in
Enloe. He farmed and raised cattle near Cooper. He was a director of
thhe old First National Bank of Enloe. He was a Mason, Joining the
Lake Creek lodge in 1908 and transfering to the Delta Lodge in 1925.
Archie and Rosie had 12 children, 2 died in infancy. Parents: Lester Bogart Carrington and Frances Ellen Anderson .

He lived his entire l;ife in Delta County, TX. According to his mothe
Frances Anderson Carrington, snow was on the ground 4 inches deep on
the day Arthur and Archie (twins) were born. Arthur attended Normal
College (now ETSU A & M). He taught school, owned a merchantile
business, farmed, ws County Tax Assessor, Chairman or the Farmer's
CO-OP, and owned the Depot Grocery in Cooper, TX. Arthur and Belle
(known as "Daddy Pete" and "Mama Belle") took great pride in their
children. Daddy Pete often said, "We've got a housefull of kids...our
sons are handsome, our daughters are pretty and every one of them has
a mind like a steel trap". Arthur was the last Postmaster at Mt. Joy,
TX. before the post office was moved to Enloe, TX. Matthew Skeen,
Lester Carrington and Albert Skeen also served as postmasters at Mt.

He moved to Mobile < AL before 1847. Eunice Carrington states that
her grandmother said that Lester attended William and Mary University
in Virginia. Lester enlisted in the Confederate Army during the Civil
War when he was 16 years old. He was a student from Baldwin county,
AL, 5' 6" tall, fair complexion, light hair and blue eyes. He was a
prisoner of war, captured at Ft. Gaines and exchanged January 4, 1865
at Ship Island, MS. He is listed with Co. , 1 Battalion, Alabama
Cadets. His middle name is listed as "Bogart" in Herschel Anderson's
records and his son Arthur also thought it was "Bogart", But it is
spelled "Boget" on his son Archie's tombstone. Lester is said to have
migrated to Delta County, in 1878 with John Albert Enloe, for whom the
town of Enloe waas named.

He was married to Frances Ellen Anderson UNKNOWN in unknown. Children were: Archie Boget Carrington, Arthur Lester Carrington , Percy VanBuren Carrington.

He was a farmer, Preacher and song leader in the churches of Delta
County. Percy and Ruby spent their entire lives in Delta and nearby
Counties. Percy studied the Bible extensively and enjoyed discussing
it with anyone who was interested. Percy and Ruby are listed in the
Delta county, TX 1900 and 1910 Census. They are listed in Hunt county
in 1920. He attended Burleson Babtist Seminary in Greenville, TX.
