I am researching my family tree. William Jacob Bottcher moved from Germany to Big Flats, NY (near Elmira) with several brothers. My grandfather was born in Elmira and was George Henry Bottcher. He homesteaded in Highmore, South Dakota and married Mabel Gilmore. My father was born in Miller, SD on October 17, 1908.
My mother's maiden name was Mary Elizabeth Campbell. She was born in Butler, PA. Her father Richard Rogers Campbell (born 1886) and his father John Shaw Campbell (born 3/15/1847, died 2/12/1921) were lifelong residents of Butler. My mother's mother was Francis Benedict who was born in Attica, NY. Her parents were Lewis Benedict (1851-1921) and Helen Amanda Doty (1865-1946).
