FIRST GENERATION

1. JOHN BRANDON⁽¹⁾ was born in 1662 in LONDON, ENGLAND. He died about 1745 in PENNSYLVANIA. John Brandon , born 1662 in London, England, arrived as a passenger in Philadelphia on the "Patience and Judith" from London on 1716. Was married to Mary Armstrong, probable sister to James Armstrong , whose daughter Mary Ann (Marian) married George Brandon.

John and Mary were the parents also of John Brandon II, (mentioned below) who was born in 1691 in London,
John Brandon II was first married to Elizabeth Cathey, born 1691, d. 1734. John II later married Elizabeth Locke, the widow,of John Locke with five children, Matthew, Francis, George, Elizabeth and Margaret

John Brandon Sr. is believed to have died ca. 1745 , as we see that John II and Elizabeth
left Pennsylvania for the valley of Virginia (Shenandoah Valley) and they were in North Carolina as early as 1749. They are buried in the Thyatira Presbyterian Church, Rowan Co.
North Carolina.

He was married to MARY ARMSTRONG about 1685 in LONDON, ENGLAND. MARY ARMSTRONG was born about 1665 in CATTERYCK, ENGLAND. JOHN BRANDON and MARY ARMSTRONG had the following children:

2 i. THOMAS BRANDON was born about 1686 in LONDON, ENGLAND.
+3 ii. WILLIAM BRANDON.
4 iii. JOHN BRANDON was born in 1691 in LONDON, ENGLAND. He died on 15 May 1756 in ROWAN CO., N. C..
