Nan's funeral was arranged by Albert Shepherd's relatives, and Dad and I had little or nothing to do with it. She was cremated at Reading Crematorium, Dad and I attended but left to go home almost immediately after the service. I received one pitiful little bag with a couple of photo albums and her threadbare teddy bear, which my daughter Alison still has! None of her papers were handed over, so I have very little to go on as far as tracing her history back. Resident at Keeper's Cottage, Pingewood from marriage to 1960 when DG Pembroke died.
