Cemetary records list Albert as 83 years, 2 months, 14 days. His father, Octavius, listed his birth date as January 22, 1870 in his pension file. The 1900 census index shows his birth as January 1870 in Ohio. Census records in 1920 list birth place as Ohio, Clarence's death certificate in 1939 lists Indiana as his birth place, Bernard's marriage license in 1943 shows the birth place as Terre Haute Indiana, Clarence's marriage license in 1922 shows Ohio, and Albert's death certificate shows him as being born in Bellaire Ohio. Albert's birth record was found in Bellaire Ohio, born Alcinus Sanders Bray, son of Octavius Bray and Amelia Harris. The 1870 census on July 9th shows Alcinius as 4 months old. He was named after Dr. Alcinius Sanders, the physician down the street, who apparently delivered him.⁽⁴¹⁾ There are many printed and written spellings of his name, including Alsenus, Alcinius, Alceinus, and the spelling which is used most often, Alsenius. His namesake is shown as Alcinius in 1880 census. Octavius wrote his son's name as "Alceinus" in his pension application in 1915. His birth record shows Alcinus. Clara M HANKE⁽⁴⁾ was born on 13 Dec 1878 in City of Bellaire, Pultney Township, Belmont Cnty, OH.⁽⁴⁵⁾⁽⁴⁰⁾⁽⁵⁾⁽⁴⁶⁾ Census records in 1920 list her birth place as Ohio, Bernard's marriage license in 1943 lists birth place as Terre Haute Indiana, and Clarence's marriage license in 1922 shows Ohio. Clara's birth record was found in Bellaire, Ohio.

Cemetary records listed Clara as 46 years, 11 months, 4 days. (actually, 45 years) She resided at 339 Belmont Street, Bellaire, OH on 4 Jun 1880 in Bellaire, Belmont Cnty, OH.⁽⁴⁷⁾ She was living from 1894 to 1909 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Cnty, PA. This is based upon the birth date of the children. Clara's death certificate indicates that she had lived in East Rochester for 14 years.

Pauline Rutyna Bray Oatman recalls Clara, her Mother-in-law, as a very nice lady who played the harmonica.

Clara's brother Edward lived nearby in Rochester in 1915, and worked in the same place as her husband. I suspect that Edward was in town first, and was responsible for the Bray's coming to East Rochester. Children were:
