bullet John Lincoln(115) was born about 1811. He died in 1844 in Preble Co, OH. Appears in the 1830 Census as 20 - 30 as does his wife Harriet. Also indexed in 1840 Census. He left the F SW Sec4T7 R2E which was sold at Sheriff's sale Jan 19, 1861. Probate #1040: Preble Co, OH. There was a guardianship case for the Children of John Lincoln on April 20, 1846 Probate #1147. Born between 1800 and 1810. John Lincoln, son of Thomas and Patsy, married Harriet (last name unknown) in 1829. They remained in Preble Co, OH until Johns death in 1844. When he died, John left the widow Harriet and five minor children. They were Henry L age 14, Lucy Ann age 12, Elizabeth age 10, David age 7, and Mary Jane age 5. John owned some land which when he died went to his children but since they were minors there was a probate case for guardianship of the children and their estates. In the 1850 US Census for Preble Co, the children were located at several homes in the area. All except Lucy A who seems not to have been counted in that census. However, we must assume that she was in the area somewhere. The marriage record of John and Harriet showed up in the IGI from marriage records of Butler Co, Ohio. Born between 1800 and 1810. Butler Co is just South of Preble Co. !He had five children though only four are known.

bullet John Lincoln(115) was born on 3 May 1716 in Freehold, Monmouth Co, NJ. He died in Nov 1788 in Linsville Creek, Rockingham Co, Va. !This is the son through which President Lincoln's family is traced. He
settled on Linville Creek shortly before the Revolutionary War. I am
unsure which wife of Mordecai Lincoln was his mother, though date of
birth suggests that it was the first wife of Mordecai Lincoln. Birth and
death dates from letter of John R. Elliott.
According to the IGI file, his will of November 1788 also lists Sarah
Lincoln, Lydia Lincoln, Rebecca Lincoln, and Hannah Lincoln, who are
probably his daughters, however, further evidence of their existence has
not yet been found. The IGI file also advises that Hannah Lincoln married
Henry Camer on 23 Feb 1812 in Rockingham County and Rebecca Lincoln
married Mathew Dyer on 10 November 1813 in Rockingham County.

bullet Lucy A Lincoln(115) was born on 11 Apr 1833 in Eaton, Preble Co, OH. She died on 21 Mar 1902 in Wapello, Louisa Co, IA.(16807) In the 1860 US Census Lucy A shows up living in Preble Co married to a farmer named Issac S Campbell. Issac and Lucy were married on Jan 13, 1856. At the time of the 1860 census they have two children, Harriet(Hattie) age 3 and Francis age 6 months. Issac is the son of William and Lavana Campbell who were living in Preble Co, OH in 1850 but who migrated from Sussex Co, Delaware sometime in the 1820's. Sometime between 1864 and 1865, Issac and Lucy A and their children, Hattie, Francis, and John, along with Issac's mother who was in her late 70's, picked up and moved to Keosauqua, IA. Why they moved or why they picked Keosauqua, we don't know. There is a GAR symbol on Issac's and Lucy's grave which would indicate that Issac fought in the Civil War. So far I have not been able to verify that. But during the 1870 US Census for Keosauqua, IA, Issac and Lucy A are living there with their three children and Issac's mother Lavana. Issac at this time has become a shoe maker. Issac died in 1876 but Lucy A lived on into the 20th Century. Until her death in 1902 she remains heavily involved with the Sommerville family. During the 1880 Census Lucy A is 47 and still living in Keosauqua with children, Francis and John. But living next door to the Campbell's is William Sommerville, with his new wife Hattie and their two children, Blanche and Edith. Both Lucy and her parent's birthplace is listed as Ohio.In this dwelling she lives with 2 sons.Frank Campbell, male, age 20, Boot & Shoe maker, BP Ohio, Parents BP Ohio.John B. Campbell, male, age 16, Laborer, BP Ohio, Parents BP ohio. In 1900 Blanche Sommerville is married to George Morrow, a carpenter. They have been married for 5 years and have three children, Margaret, Jo, and Tom. There is also a lodger living with the Morrow's. She is 67 years old and her name is Lucy A Phillips. This of course is the former Lucy A Lincoln. The birthdate is given and matches exactly. It turns out that Lucy married a J. W. Phillips on May 16, 1888. However J. W. died on Oct 11, 1888. I hope he had money. According to Lucy's, obit, she was taken with pneumonia and after a few days she was seized with heart failure and died suddenly. She was a member of the M.E. church starting in 1872 and a sister of the Daughters of Rebekah starting in 1870. This is the Lucy A Lincoln who is the subject of the inscription in Virginia Picketts sewing box which reads as follows. "For Mildred from Grandma, Lucy Lincoln Campbell. Given to her when a little girl by her Aunt, Betsy Lincoln. Lucy Lincoln Campbell was born near Camden, Ohio, April 11, 1833." For a while I thought that Betsy was a daughter-in-law of Lucy. But I now believe that Betsy is Elizabeth Lincoln, Lucy's sister. Parents: John Lincoln and Harriet Hulse.

She was married to Issac Steven Campbell on 13 Jan 1856 in Preble Co, OH. Children were: Harriet L Campbell, Frank P Francis Campbell , John B Campbell, Mary J Campbell.

She was married to John W Phillips on 16 May 1888.
