1647/8, d. at Northampton, 11 or 12, May 1736, ae. 89 years, dau of Elder
John and Abigail (Ford) Strong. They are both buried n Bridge St.
Cemetery, Northampton. At a Particular Court held in Hartford on 28 Mardh
1650, Richard Sexton brought suit against Joseph Parsons "in an Action of
the Case to the damage of 20 pounds." The jury found for Sexton 5 pounds
in damages and costs of court. The cause of the suit is not explaianed,
but the incident must have taken place in Connecticut, since the case was
brought before a Connecticut court, and probably in Windsor where Richard
Secton lived. By 22 June 1649 Joseph Parsons was once again residing in
Springfield for on that date his son Benjamin died there. He was known
variously as Joseph Parsons, Jr., Capt Joseph Parsons, and Joseph
Parsons, Esq. Virkus says Joseph (1647-1729), Springfield MA rep. Gen Ct.
14 years., m 1669 Elizabeth, dau. of Elder John Strong. Judge Hampshire
Co. Court 23 years. Served in King Philips War. Parents: Cornet Joseph Parsons and Mary Bliss.
