He came to Buffalo with Cousin America in 1840. He was a memaber of Millard Fillmore's Home Guard. He went to school in Alexandria, Va. He llived in Detroit in 1840 to 1845, before goiing to Buffalo. He was a topographical engineer, under command of Capt. Williams in 1840=he surveyed Lake Erie under Lt. Col. Kearney until 1850. In 1863 he was a grocer, in 1862 he was a cheese dealer in Buffalo.
