AFFIDAVIT IT TALKS OF A BOOK ENTITLED THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND
PREHISTORIC EVENTS. THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK IS C. B. WALKER,
AND THE BOOK WAS PUBLISHED BY R. F. ROOT IN THE YEAR 1880.
IT SAID THAT ON THE FRONT BLANK LEAFLETS WRITTEN IN A COPYING
PENCIL IS A FAMILY RECORD OF JESSE SUTTLES AND FAMILY. THE FOLLOWING ENTRY WAS WRITTEN JESSE SUTTLES WAS BORN IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 1837 JAN. 28 .

IN THE APPLICATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT IT HAS THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THAT JESSE'S SECOND WIFE LEFT HIM EIGHT YEARS PAST.
THE REPORT IS THAT SHE IS DEAD.

IN THE DECLARATION FOR INVALID PENSION IT SAID JESSE WAS UNABLE
TO EARN SUPPORT BY ANY REASON DUE TO HEART DISEASE AND VARICOSE VEINS IN BOTH LEGS.

IN THE DECLARATION FOR PENISON JESSE WAS SWORN IN ON 8/4/1861
AS A PRIVATE IN COMPANY G 59 REGIMENT ILLINOIS INFANTRY AND
REINLISTED 1/1/1864 . HE SERVED THREE YEARS ELEVEN MONTHS AND
TWELVE DAYS IN THE CIVIL WAR.
