Stamford when she was quite young." There are several Whitney's
in the Houghton Cem. but their relationship to Sarah, if any, has not
been determined. She is probably the "Mrs. Jillson" from Stamford in the
Vermont Vital Records who died in 1865 from heart disease. [Age 35yrs.
1mo. 21da. at death.] The genealogy is wrong when it says that her parents moved to Stamford. From what I have gathered they never moved from Putney. Sarah married about a week before her father remarried. I believe she came to the Stamford area with her older brother Charles R. Whitney. Why they left home at such early ages will have to remain a mystery.
