death, she married Seth CRAFTS of Whately in 1815...She is then recorded
as
Mrs. Anna French in the Westhampton record, which indicated that she
remained in
Westhampton until her second marriage. She went to Whately and died there
Aug.
19 1869, aged 89. The gravestone of Byington French, the first husband of
Anna
Brockway, may still be seen in the Westhamton cemetery, as may also the
gravestone of his 2 children, Buckland, infant son of Byington, and James
Buckley, son of Byington French, who died age 2 years. Parents: Isaiah Brockway and Elisabeth Comstock.

married Thomas Herrick in 1822 and removed to Blandford, Ma. where she
resided until her death June 14, 1869. Her age was 91. Parents: Isaiah Brockway and Elisabeth Comstock.

The daughters of Gideon and Nancy Brockway died young. Gideon Brockway
sold No 22 (Southampton) to Mr. Goodrich, a speculator in Western land in
1832, and removed with his family in May of that year, to Clymer, where
he died in 1870, aged 85. His wife died in Clymer april 1855,
aged 68. Parents: Isaiah Brockway and Elisabeth Comstock.

Isaiah Brockway⁽¹¹⁰⁾ was born in 1749 in Lyme, CT. He died on 23 Dec 1829 in Southampton, MA. Isaiah Brockway, son of Gideon settled in Southampton, MA about 1785. He
was born in 1749 in Lyme, CT, where he m. Elizabeth Comstock, and where
some of his children were born. He removed to East Granville in 1780 and
afterwards to Southampton. His first wife d. at Southampton Jan 24, 1807.
He afterwards m. Mrs. Anna Culver, who was b. in 1755 and d. in 1825. He
died Dec 13, 1829. From Southampton Local History, by Samuel L.T.Wright,
1899: page 65: "Isiah Brockway of No 23 bought the farm, No 22, of Elizah
Bundy in 1779. Gideon Brockway, oldest son of Isiah Brockway, m. Nancy
Williams of Norwich, Ma. in 1813 and came to reside on No 22 at about the
time of his marrige, although his deed of the place was dated in 1826,
from which it seems that Isiah Brockway owned in until 1826. He certainly
was the first permanent settler, and he probably came when it was covered
with forest. Just when he came is uncertain but he was here in 1786. This
statement is found on the town records, (see History of Southampton, Vol
1, by S. Wright.) (see also the sketch of Nathaniel Dady). "Isiah
Brockway was a Mason by trade, and came from Conn. He was so poor, when
he came to Southampton, that it was thought best, by some, to warn him
out of town, but I think it was not done, as I find no records of it on
the town books. The tradition is that Isaac Parsons of No 18 who was
quite an influential man, gave so good an account of Mr. Brockway's
energy that he was allowed to remain undisturbed. He did not, however,
get a deed of his place until he had resided on it several years, as his
deed was dated Dec 22 1797. He, however, accumulated considerable
property before his death and was justly proud of the fact it is said. He
