Franklin Raymond ARMSTRONG was born on 3 Nov 1900 in Brighton Twp., Northumberland,
Ontario. He died on 15 Aug 1966 in Cobourg, Ontario. In 1919 he worked in a
Gold Mine at Leeds S. Dakota.
In 1921 he worked in a gold mine in Hollinger, at Timmins Ontario
In 1925 he went down to Chicago and worked for Uncle Frank Hardinge
In 1932 he married Elsie Tipping. They lived on the farm with his
parents, but the C.C.F. party was just starting and he did more running
around the country campaibubg than farming. Meetings with Tommy
Douglas and J.J. Coldwell.
He inherited 1/2 section of the farm when his father died in 1944. Their
children were all born in Saskatchewan.
There was ab epidemic of horse encephalomengitis in the 40's and he
contacted sleeping sickness
In 1949, after selling the farm, they moved to Cobourg Ont. and bought a
farm down there.
His health deteriated gradually and he died in 1966. Johnny, their
youngest son, died when a gun went off, accidentally, at the age of 13.
