"Fannie Madison was so named, according to a tradition in the family, by
president Madison, who was travelling on horseback through Frederick Co., and
stopped for the night at her father's house. The 'little baby girl' was brought
out, and at his request she was called Fannie Madison." (Stubbs, p. 88)
Died in childbirth along with unnamed child on Feb. 4,1837
