The Becker's and Buck's of Montana and Washington

Updated February 12, 2003

About Our Family Research

I am the last of my line of Buck's as far as I know.

Hubert Beckers, a starting point... Hubert of Big Fork Montana spent most of his life in the Flathead Valley on Montana. He was a prosperous farmer and was widely known over the State.
He was borm 3-12-1979 on the Rhine River in Germany. His parentsCharles and Mary Beckers came to America in 1881 Hubert was only 2.
They lived at St Vincent MN for several years where the father was employed by The Great Northern Railroad Company. In 1892, the Becker's family moved to The Flathead County of Montana, around the time that the town of Kalispell was getting itg's start. Hubert married Margaret Cook of Silverbow County Montana. There my grandmother, and the person whom I have my fondest memories, Ceccelia Marie was born. They bought the Cook ranch of Big Fork with a home situated on a pisturesque adn commanding site. The home has been noted for it's hospitality. They were generous to their community and it's services. They gave generously to the winning of the war, and was preparing to volunteer as a Mechanic in the Naval Yards In Washington state when the armistice was signed.

The family had a commading presence in the Valley, as successful businessmen. He died in December 1960 (6 years before my birth) and was buried in the Conrad Cemetary where most of the family now rests.

The Becker's and the Buck's joined together with the marriage of Hubert Becker's and Gena Cook's daughter, Ceccelia Marie Beckers and Earl Stanley Buck.

That's where I am starting. I don't know much about the Buck ancesroty but I am sending out forms with questions for each family member to contribute the facts about their lives and whom they can remember...along with asking for any family stories...history...that can be collected to be submitted...along with any legal documents and pictures.

I am hoping to create a rich legacy of our family values and reunions....along with taped reunion sessions of several of the musical talents...and I am soliciting the Professional artists of the family to draw...create...and contribute to a Central Family Source File that is kept up to date. Several of the writer's will contribute poems...old letter's and receipts of paper's of historical interest.

I am very inclined to get as much information as I can in the shortest amount of time from the member's of the family that are are our senior's...with a goal to collect as much of our heritage as possible.
