Hal Burgert & Family's Roots and History

About Our Family Research

Our family research includes too many proud family names to list in total here. A few of the most prevalent names however are Burgert, Cole, Holmes, Sussex, Franks, Johnson, Knowles, and Barlows and their ancestors. Research has included Federal Archives, libraries, cemeteries, census records, family recollections, tape recordings, photographs, research and other books, Internet connections, etc.

There are a number of objectives of this family homepage. I hope that it becomes the basis of authoritative family history for those current family members who know of it's existence. I hope it becomes an inspiration to those family children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren who receive a school assignment someday to report on their family tree one day, or just become curious about it. It is also my hope that by publishing this home page and family tree on the Internet that other possible lost family relatives may benefit from the information and family history here, and possibly may even have additional information to share about additional extensions of our family and ancestors. Finally, I hope that the review and knowledge of this extensive family tree will provide the same degree of pride, gratification, and humility that it has provided me in it's creation. When you reflect back on all of the family names, dates, lives, family's, and generations going back in time in some instances to the 17th century, you can't help but realize what a small grain of sand each of us is the grand beach of life.
