Edward Ralph Hodgson and Beryl Hague were married November 10, 1945 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in New Jersey. His father was born in England and his mother in Brooklyn, New York. Her father was born in New Jersey and her mother also.
Edward and Beryl honeymooned in Miami, Florida. And shortly thereafter, settled there. They raised five children (I am the fifth child) in Miami Springs. The house was built at 970 Wren Avenue in 1952. After 50 1/2 years of marriage, Edward passed away. In 2001, Beryl still resides at the Hodgson family home.
This family tree documents the researched ascendants and descendants of Edward and Beryl. On Beryl's father's side, the Hagues and the Bakers have been well documented by Florence Amelia Hague, Beryl's aunt. This information is readily available to me and will be recorded on this website as time permits. This information traces the Bakers to the original nine families settling Long Island in the beginnings of the 1600's. The Hagues are traced back to Captain James Hague who migrated to the United States from Scarborough, England. His father, Rev. William Hague was a minister in the Baptist Church at Scarborough in the late 17 and early 1800's.
Edward Ralph Hodgson's mother, Eugenie Pride Hodgson, died when he and his older brother, Alexander Hodgson were 3 1/2 and 5 1/2. Edward's father, Alec Wilberforce Hodgson had migrated from England in the early 1900's. Alec's mother, Laura Hannah Jacobs Hodgson and his sister, Maggie Loo Loo Hodgson (Madge) migrated also. Alec's father, Michael Hodgson remained in England. It has not been discovered whether Alec's parents divorced; however, it is apparent that the parent's relationship did not continue. It is not known whether Alec and his sister continued their relationship with their father either.
Laura and Michael were probably from Hull, England. They were married at Cardiff, South Wales. Their marriage and the birthdates of Alec and Maggie Loo Loo, is recorded by them in the leaf of a family bible. The birth records of Michael and Laura have not been discovered yet.
