Hi, I first started researching my step-fathers tree, then I thought about my biological father and from a small acorn a large family tree has grown. Delving into the deep unknown has given me quite a few sleepless nights wondering if I am doing the right thing. We all need to know where we have come from whether its for the best or not....I still haven't found him. My great Grandfather Chapman served in the 10th Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment but never came back from Salonika,Something I have since found out,So I thought I would get to grips with his back ground. Would you believe it, I have spent quite a few months now trying to get beyond him. Having got his Marriage Cert delivered I was extremely excited only to find that 'Chapman' was written in the fathers name box....nothing else. What a let down. So if there are Chapmans out there that have a John William Chapman born in S.Norwood in their tree....let me know..LOL I am sure |
