LDS information shows a FRANCES ANN WRIGHT, (AFN: 3LSF-QD), born about 1837. Place of birth not listed. Her husband is JAMES SHELTON COPELAND, SR. (AFN: 3LSF-P7).

1880 Census shows wife of JAMES L. COPELAND named FRANCES, 35 years of age, which would make her birthdate about 1845.

1900 census shows her living with her daughter, EMMA BUTLER, and her birthdate to be Dec 1839. It shows her to be a widow and that she had 8 children of which 6 are living.

Copeland Cemetery data from Amaze.net shows birthdate about 1837. (no marker). This data also indicates that she died the same day as her son Christopher Columbus Copeland.

She was married to James Leviticus COPELAND (son of James COPELAND and Nancy Holland) about 1857. James Leviticus COPELAND⁽⁸⁾ was born about 1830. He died between 1880 and 1900. He was buried in Copeland Cemetery, Buckhorn, Nasemond, VA.⁽⁷⁾ There is some question about the middle name of this JAMES COPELAND and the last name of his wife.

1880 Census for State of Virginia, County of Nansemond, Ward of Holly Neck, enumeration 6/26/80 shows a JAMES L. COPELAND, 50 years old farmer with a wife and 5 children living at home. The 5 children's names and ages are consistent with the information obtained from other records. The age of 50 would indicate that he was born about 1830.

1900 Census for State of Virginia, County of Nansemond, Holly Neck Dist, enumeration date of 6/4/90 shows FRANCES COPELAND living with her daughter EMMA BUTLER and two brothers, HENRY J. and LEON H. COPELAND. This indicates that JAMES L. COPELAND may have died between 1880 and 1900.

Matthew de Holland, Twenty-Sixth Generation data obtained from the internet shows that FRANCES ANN WRIGHT married JAMES LEVITICUS COPELAND, date unknown. JAMES was born about 1832 in Nansemond County, VA. James was the son of James Copeland and Nancy (Unknown) [Copeland].

Birth certificate from State of Virginia shows an (Unnamed) Copeland, date of birth September 1875, white, male, born alive; Fathers name James L. Copeland; Mother's name Francis(sp) Copeland. This is the first information of a child born to this couple in 1875. The date record filed was October 1876 and the child was still unnamed therefore it appears that the child must have died as an infant or at least before the 1880 census.

LDS information shows a JAMES SHELTON COPELAND, SR., (AFN: 3LSF-P7), born about 1822, Nansemond County, VA., married to a FRANCES ANN WRIGHT and had 8 children. The children's names and ages are consistent with the information obtained from census records for JAMES L. COPELAND.

Annie Babb Copeland says that she thinks that JAMES SHELTON COPELAND (her father-in-law) father's name was JAMES L. COPELAND. However, his obituary shows him to be the son of JAMES SHELTON COPELAND, SR. AND FRANCES ANN HUDGINS.
This is the only place that I have found his wife's name to be HUDGINS instead of WRIGHT. Frances Ann WRIGHT and James Leviticus COPELAND had the following children:

1880 census shows his age to be 18 on date of enumeration 26/6/80 which would make his birth date 1862. 1900 census shows his birth date to be March 1861 and age to be 39.
