He was married to Mamie Edith WYATT (daughter of James Isaac WYATT and Polly HOLLAND) on 22 Dec 1909.^{(12) (7)} Mamie Edith WYATT was born on 24 Feb 1888.^{(24) (7)} She died on 28 Feb 1965. ⁽⁷⁾ She was buried in Copeland Cemetery, Buckhorn, Nasemond, VA. ⁽⁷⁾ The LDS information shows birth year to be about 1883. Norman Oscar BUTLER and Mamie Edith WYATT had the following children:

136 i. Gladys Elizabeth BUTLER^{(12) (7)} was born on 8 Jan 1911.⁽⁷⁾ She died on 19 Sep 1912.⁽⁷⁾ She was buried in Copeland Cemetery, Buckhorn, Nasemond, VA. ⁽⁷⁾ Information from Sharon C. Wagner shows a LESSIE BUTLER without any birth or death information. I assume that this individual may be the same person. Also, Sharon C. Wagner data shows the parents to of Gladys Butler to be Mary Elizabeth Copeland and William Thomas Butler. If this is correct Mary Elizabeth would have been 50 years old when Gladys was born. It appears that the cemetery records to be more accurate.
