Dr. Philemon HOLLAND ⁽¹⁾ was born in 1552 in Chelmsford, Essex County, England.⁽¹⁾ He died on 9 Feb 1636 in Coventry, Essex, England.⁽¹⁾ Dr. Philemon Holland was a mighty scholar and indefatigable translator. He was educated at Trinty College, Cambridge. His son's William, Robert and Gabriel came to America on the ship "Asurance" in 1635. He was married to Anne PAYTON (daughter of William PAYTON) date unknown. ⁽¹⁾ Anne PAYTON was born in 1555.⁽¹⁾ She died in 1627 in Coventry, Essex, England.⁽¹⁾ Dr. Philemon HOLLAND and Anne PAYTON had the following children:
