John (a Puritan Divine) HOLLAND⁽¹⁾ was born before 1550. ⁽¹⁾ He died in 1578 in Essex, England. ⁽¹⁾ Because of his religion John Holland had to flee to the Continent in the reign of Queen Mary, but returned home, under Elizabeth, became Rector of Dunmow Magna, in Essex and died there in 1578. (The Lancashire Hollands, p 323).
