SEVENTH GENERATION

25. Sir Richard de HOLLAND (1) was born about 1325 in Denton, Lancashire, England.(1) He died in 1402. (1) While these Holland of Denton always held a position of a county family on the higher level and married into like families in Lancashire and Cheshire; but they played their part on the provincial and not on the national scene. No doubt they were sometimes in the Scottish wars, for it was the duty for a gentlemen in the nine northern counties to quell the Scots, while those of the south were engaged in the more pleasant and profitable trade of war in Sunny France. Richard de Holland was, however, one of the Lancashire gentlemen summoned on March 28, 1373 to serve the Duke of Lancashire in an espidition to France.

He was married to Aimeria de KENYON (daughter of Adam de KENYON) about 1350. Aimeria de KENYON was born about 1325.(1) Sir Richard de HOLLAND and Aimeria de KENYON had the following children:
