THIRD GENERATION3. Sir Thurstan de HOLLAND

He married three times. Thurstan de Holland first married the daughter of
Adam de Kellet, through whom the Hollands acquired manors in north Lancashire,
as Lonsdale, Furness, and Chartmel. By his first wife he had five sons, Robert,
William, Richard, Roger, Adam, and a daughter Margaret. Thurstan next married
Juliana, a daughter of John Gellibrand, and had four more sons, Thurstan, Adam,
Elias, and Simon. He married thirdly a daughter of Henry de Hale, an illegitimate
son of Richard de Meath, Lord of Hale.
He was married to (Unknown) de KELLET (daughter of Adam de
KELLET) about 1254.(1)

an estimated date of 1215.(1) The de Kellets
of Over and Nether Kellett owned manors in north Lancashire; Cartmel, Furness
and Lonsdale, which were inherited by Thurstan de Holande and his descendants.
In 1080, according to The Domesday Book, the township was divided into Over
and Nether Kellett. Adam de Kellett held three carncates of land in Kellett
which the Sergeaantry of the Wapenlake valued at 50 pounds per year. Adam was
the son or Oreme de Kellett who owned four carcates of land in Kellett and divided
this land between his two sons, Bernard and Adam. Sir Thurstan de HOLLAND and
