Notes for Arthur Mowat Campbell: Arthur Mowat Campbell Irene is Arthur's second wife. Her first husband was a farmer, after her husbands death she moved to town, (Almonte Ont). Being a lady of good works and help to the elderly in the community she met Arthur. A romance blossomed and they were married shortly afterwards. It was in July of 2000 during Peter and Eve Campbell's cross Canada tour and Genealogy search that we were privileged to meet Arthur and Irene. Thanks to their wealth of family information and grave site locations we have been able confirm many more fact about James Campbell and two brothers Neil and Donald who came from Argyllshire, Scotland in 1828 after a voyage of 13 weeks. They landed in the township of Lochaber, Quebec. James settled on Lot 21, Donald settled on Lot 21 range 2, and Neil settled on Lot 22. John Whitney Campbell was the first white child born in Lochaber. John Campbell's gravestone is in Clarence, Ont. Clarence Cemetery. His wife Cynthia Ann Waters is also buried in the same plot. James Campbell, John Campbell's father, was buried in the Lochaber Scotch grave, (no tombstone) near his brother Neil Campbell, (Neil's tombstone is still there).
