| I am looking for my paternal Grandfather Charles Alphonso Cannavo. He was said to have been born in Havana Cuba he may have been abopted by a family in Texas. I have never been able to confirm this. He worked in the coal mines in Spring Valley Illinois and that is where he met and married my Grandmother Mary Ann Pearson/Pierson. ( Her parents were Isaac and Hanna Griffin Pearson/Pierson who were from Normanton England. I know very little about Isaac and nothing of Hanna other then she could have died in Spring Valley Illinois and had 12 children, six of whom remained in England when they imigrated the USA, why I am not sure.) Charles is said to have worked for the railroad that ran between Des Moines Iowa and Chicago, Illinios after the family moved to Des Moines somethime in the 1920's. Charles is said to have been injuried and/or killed sometime between 1925-1927 either in Chicago or Galesburg Illinois. I have not been able to confirm any of this as I have never been able to find his death certificate or his grave. I am also seeking inforamtion regarding my Great Great Great grandmother Zilphia/Zelpha Wiggins who was born in either Sampson or Wayne Co. North Carolina about 1780. I know she had a child named Major Hinton Wiggins Sr. who married Martha Caroline Britt in Wayne Co 1849. I am also seeking information on Fannie Rollins who married Noah Price. They gave birth to my Grandmother Eva Price Sasser Wiggins. |
