Frederich Wilhelm Meier who passed away at Wayne Friday at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 11 days, from complications arising from a broken hip, was born at Stadensen, Province of Hanover, Prussia, August 25, 1845. He grew to manhood in Germany and was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Dorothea Zanzig in 1868. Mr. and Mrs. Meier came to America in 1881 and settled in Washington county, where they remained for three years. In 1884 they moved to Dixon county and located on a farm seven miles northeast of Wayne. In the family are three sons, Wilhelm, Heinerich and Friederich, all of whom are living in this vicinity. Mrs. Meier preceded her husband in death in 1898, and for the last six years Mr. Meier had lived in the city of Wayne.
Funeral services for the deceased were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and later, from the church. Mr. Meier had been connected with the German Lutheran church since childhood, and a host of Wayne and Dixon county friends filled the church to pay their last respects to the dead and to extend sympathy to the surviving sons and their families. Interment was made in the local cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Meyer observed their silver wedding anniversary Monday evening in the city hall club room, on their twenty-sixth anniversary, the celebration being belated.
About 100 guests were present. Mrs. Norman Meyer played piano selections and Ferris Meyer gave a reading. Card prizes went to Jim Kirchner, Martin Meyer, Fred Meyer, Mrs. Art Meyer, Mrs. Kenneth Victor and Mrs. Wilbur Nolte.
Marilyn Grone was in charge of the guest book and gifts. The anniversary cake was baked by Mrs. Reuben Meyer and cut by Mrs. Alvin Rastede. Louise Koopman, Yutan, poured.
Ladies serving were Mrs. Ben Hollman, Mrs. Otto Heithold, Mrs. William Victor and Mrs. Alvin Roeber.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer were married Dec. 9, 1931 in Dixon county by Rev. F. C. Doctor. Bridesmaid Mrs. Carl Lueders, sister of Mrs. Meyer, was present at the celebration.
Children of the couple are Mrs. Billy Suehl, Winside, Geln Meyer and Ferris Meyer. They have two grandchildren. Children were: Marcella Jane Meyer, Glenn Dean Meyer, Ferris Lyle Meyer.

Funeral services for William Meyer, 87, were held at Grace Lutheran church Monday afternoon. Mr. Meyer died Friday morning at his home.
Rev. E. J. Bernthal officiated. Robert B. Meyer, accompanied by Charles Messerschmidt, jr., sang "Jerusalem, Thou City Fair and High" and "Abide With Me."
Pallbearers were Arnold Victor, Bill Suehl, Ferris Meyer, Kenneth Victor, Myron Meyer and Delbert Jensen. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.
William August Meyer, son of William and Anna Meyer, was born Oct. 20, 1869 at Stadensen, Germany. At the age of 12 he came with his parents to America, settling in Washington county, near Hooper. Mar. 18, 1883 he was confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Hooper.
The following year he came to Dixon county and affiliated there with Immanuel Lutheran church northwest of Wakefield, where he was an active member for more than 60 years.
Feb. 25, 1892 he married Dorothea Roeber. Upon his retirement from farming he moved to Wayne in September, 1930. In 1946 he transferred his church membership to Grace Lutheran.
Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. William Victor, Wakefield, and Mrs. Ernest Grone, Wayne; four sons, William H., Arthur, Louis H. and Martin, Wakefield; a brother, Fred W. Meyer, Wayne; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Dorothea Roeber, daughter of Catherine Jacobs and Henry Roeber, was born October 31, 1871 in Melzingen, Hanover, Germany. At the age of two she came with her parents to Cleveland, Ohio, and four years later moved to Washington County, Nebraska, settling near Arlington.
In 1885 she came to Dixon County. February 25, 1892 she was married to William A. Meyer. The couple farmed northeast of Wayne until 1930 when they moved into Wayne.
Preceding her in death were her husband, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her children, Mrs. William Victor, William H., Arthur H. and Martin, Wakefield, and Mrs. Ernest Grone and Louis H., Wayne, and a sister, Mrs. George Brammer, Wayne, 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
