bullet Orla Lambert Heise was born on Jun 23 1894 in Heise homestead at Victoria Square. The Heise homestead was in the Heise family name as early as 1805 when Jacob Heise Sr. came from Pennsylvania. He purchased 200 acres of land for about $1000. In those days King George III was king of England and Ontario was Upper Canada. The population of Muddy York (now Toronto) was about 350 people. He died on Mar 19 1955 in Toronto, Ontario. He died in the Toronto General Hospital of a ruptured aneurism in the chest area after being sick for only a few days. His life was centered around the church. He served as deacon for over half his life. He also served at the Canadian Conference and the General Conference level in various roles. He was buried in Heise Hill Cemetery.
