2. MARTIN PAUL² KAUFFMANN (HENRY¹) was born February 11, 1878 in Paris, Seine, France, and died May 08, 1962. He married ELISABETH ROSE SALTZER October 11, 1905 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of MICHAEL SALTZER and ELISABETH SALTZER. She was born November 15, 1882 in Mereny, Szepes Megye, Hungary, and died March 21, 1981 in Sweet Springs, MO.

Born in Paris, France. Served in the military in Germany for 2? years. His mother died when he was young and was kicked out at the age of 14. He worked on a ship to the US but had to go back to get paid. He then came back over. (this was after he served int he military) He came witha friend Fredrick (pronounced Freedrick) who married his half sister. He had a full brother, Henry, whereabouts not known. He woked in a machine shop in Pittsburg. He met and married Elizabeth Saltzer in Pittsburg. They had two children: Marie(Annamari) and Henry. They moved to Kansas City and he worked on the Missouri Pacific Railroad ont he rip track (boxcar repair) approximately 1911. Martin Jr was born 19 Feb 1914, Karl born 8 June 1915. Martin Sr worked until approximately 1928 on the railroad. He then worked on the street department for the city until about 1943-44. He then went to the bomber plant at Fairfax, Kansas. They build B-25's there. (His work there was unknown) The war was over in 1945. He worked at the Army Quartermaster Depot for a couple of years. He then worked at BMA (Business Meus Association) in Kansas City. He was an elevator operator and had two halls to clean, night work. His boss told him he had to file for Social Security because he was around 71 years old. He stayed there until he retired, 8 or 9 years later. He then passed away 4 years later around 5:00 in May 1962.

Elizabeth Saltzer came over to US on borrowed money from her uncle. She was born in Austeria, Hungary (settlement of Germans) Her brother, Karl Saltzer, was sent back to Germany by the government after WWII. She worked as a cook or maid for a family in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. (Her father: Michael Saltzer, her mother: Elizabeth R Saltzer) Burial 26 Mar 1981, Memorial Park, Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri She had another brother (in US or Hungary) name of Louis?
