| I am currently researching the Simpson and Littleton families of a good friend whose folks are in Texas. One great-great-great grandfather was Joshua Simpson, born in Kentucky around 1800, married in McNairy County, Tennesse and eventually made the big trek to Rusk County, Texas in 1844. His first son was Rolan H. Simpson who settled in Johnson County. Rolan is alleged to have fathered seventeen children, but the one I know most about was the very first, Walter Lafayette Simpson who married Orenda Cansada Texas Lafon in 1877 and settled in Hico, Texas. The two then proceeded to make Texas history and had a large family of their own. Another great-great-great grandfather was Enoch Littleton, born in North Carolina around 1780 but moved to Georgia. His son Anderson Littleton was born in that state around 1820 and raised his family in Attala County, Mississippi where his son Charley A. Littleton was born in 1861. Charley came to Erath County, Texas sometime in the 1880s, married Rachel Jones, and raised a family of eight children. I'd be interested in corresponding with other descendents of these families. |
