Fredericke Miller (b. February 15, 1836, d. May 14, 1907)

Fredericke Miller (daughter of Unknown Muller) was born February 15, 1836 in Meklenburg, Schwerin, GA, and died May 14, 1907 in of an apoplectical stroke. She married Joachim Ranz on 1854 in Buffalo, NY, son of Christian Ranz.

MRS RANZ DIES NEAR WOODWORTH--6 STALWART SONS BEAR MOTHER'S BODY TO THE GRAVE
As the result of an apoplectical stroke received the 6th of the month, Mrs. Freidericke Ranz died at her home in Ash Grove Township near Woodworth the past week. She was 71 years, 2 months, and 29 days old.
The funeral took place last week Thursday, conducted by Rev. Kaaz of Kankakee, Interment was made in Ash Grove cemetery. The body of the aged woman was borne to the grave by 6 of her sons, who acted as pallbearers.
Mrs. Ranz was a good woman and was honored and respected by her many acquaintances. The people of Ash Grove Township feel her death as a personal loss.
The deceased lived in Ash Grove Township ever since 1869, when she and her husband Joachim Ranz moved to this vicinity with their children from Muscatine, Iowa. She was born in Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany, February 15, 1836. When 15 years old she accompanied her parents Mr. and Mrs. Muller to America. In 1854 she became the bride of Joachim Ranz, the marriage occurring in Buffalo, New York. Two years later they moved to Iowa where they remained until they moved to this county.
Mr. and Mrs. Ranz became the parents of 13 children, 8 of whom survive. There is one daughter Anna who lives at home, the 7 sons are William in Iowa, Henry Charles and Herman of Nebraska, John of Indiana, Fred who is a member of the firm of Beeba, Rose and Ranz of Claytonville and Samuel who is operating the farm.
