on Hooper's I sland, and inherited the estate from his father.
Around 1790 he and his wife e migrated to Kentucky. At
Pittsburgh, Pa. they obtained a flatboat to bring th eir families
down the Ohio river. At times the indians tryed to decoy them
i nto landing, when this did not work, the indians fired on their
party, killing one man. They finally landed at Limestone and
took refuge in Derrits Station or Fort for several years.
Benjamin Pollard died of tuberculosis August 6, 18 08. He was
buried in the graveyard at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in
Mason County, Kentucky.
