Born in Guy's Hospital, London. Never new Mother. Was brought up by Mrs Rowe (Step Mothers Mother), and then on her death (he was aged 9) went to live with his 'Aunt' and 'Uncle', (which turned out to be his father and step mother). Thought his name was Jack Rowe until he obtained his birth certificate, prior to getting married.
