James Russel Wilson (son of David McConaughy, Jr. Wilson and Margaret Pearl Wiley)271 was born 10 Sep 1918 in Milan, Missouri, and died Aug 1998 in Winter Haven, Fl. He married (1) Living Kirkpatrick, daughter of John Charles Fisher and Grace Frances Lenzie. He married (2) Living Sanders, daughter of Maynard Robert Sanders and Ida Barron Dozier.

James and Ida were divorced in 1966. James' obituary reads as follows:
Born i Milan, Mo., on Sept. 10, 1918, he moved from Sanford, Fl. in 1965 to Winter Haven after being offered a teaching position at Polk Comm. College.
"Russ had the highest principles, morals and standards," said his wife of 28 years, Betty Fisher Wilson. "Although not much of a talker, he said exactly what he meant".
A Navy aviator, he retired in 1962 after 21 years of active duty. An instructor at the Naval center in Pensacola, he later served with the 2nd formation of Air Group 21, in San Diego and was a squadron leader aboard the aircraft carrier Belleau Wood.
During his military career, he received several military decorations while he served in the Pacific Theatre, where he was an ace pilot, having shot down 5 enemy aircraft.
After an honorable discharge he returned to college and earned two master's, one in business administration and the other in education from Rollins College. He had earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa.
A professor of economics at Polk Comm. College, he retired in 1983 after 18 years.
