FIRST GENERATION

1. David BARNFATHER was born in 1700. Date of birth is taken from information provided by Lanercost Parish Burial Records and the Memorial Inscription on his headstone, both of which indicate he died at age 89 in 1789. He signed a will on 5 May 1789 in Garthside. He died on 10 Sep 1789 in Garthside. He was buried on 13 Sep 1789 in Lanercost Priory. Buried in Space U43. He had an estate probated on 26 Sep 1789. Copy of Will in my file. The four children noted for David Barnfather are those listed in his will. There may have been others. No mention is made of his wife, indicating she may have pre-deceased him.

David's Will mentions a Grandson, Lewis; it is unclear who is the father of this child. A Lewis Barnfather of Brampton, Weaver, died in 1803 (bur. 4 Sep 1803 according to Lanercost Parish Records) at age 37.

There is a will (copy in my file) for Lewis Barnfather, written 4 Aug 1803 and proved 17 Mar 1810. David Barnfather of Garthside is mentioned in this will.

David BARNFATHER had the following children:
