1. William Barnfather Of Leeds was a Whitesmith (Tinsmith) in 1841.(1) He resided Chapel Street in 1841 in Leeds.(2) He was a Smith and Farrier in 1868 in Leeds.(3) He died on 1 Aug 1868 in 3 St. Helen Street, Hunslet, Leeds. (4) Death reported by Alice Barnfather. He was born. William Barnfather was probably born in 1799 in Gargrave, Leeds. Information supplied by a researcher several years ago indicated a 1799 birth for this William. Unfortunately, that research has been lost and we are unable to verify this at this time.

He was married to Hannah Smith on 25 Dec 1834 in St. Peter, Leeds, Yorkshire. (5) Witnesses to this marriage were George Smith jnr and Samuel Norton(?) Hannah Smith was born about 1802 in Hunslet. There are two possibilities for this Hannah: one baptized 8 Jan 1804 at Hunslet, Leeds (father named Jonas Smith), or one baptized 1 Aug 1802 at St. Peter's, Leeds (father James Smith). Due to the fact that one of Hannah's sons was named James Smith Barnfather, it seems likely that the 1802 birth may be the correct one.
