I am researching the Daniel BUNTING family. He came to Edgecombe County, North Carolina before the American Revolution and settled on land near Conetoe Creek. He came possibly from Pennsylvania,New Jersey or Virginia and may have been a Quaker. It is also possible that he may have descended from the Anthony and Ellen Bunting line who came to America from Matlock, England to Crosswicks, New Jersey aboard the ship Kent in the early 1600's. They had four sons.
I have most of their information but am having some difficulty connecting my Daniel Bunting with this line, if that is indeed his lineage. I have speculated that he was a descendant of Anthony and Ellen's son Job Bunting.I have supportive information gathered from the Elizabeth Koleda Book. There are several Daniel Buntings whose lines "drop off" for mysterious reasons.
I speculate that my Daniel came to North Carolina shortly after he was expelled from the Quaker meeting.I would like to know more about why he was "expelled". I have also found supportive information which confirms that he was involved in the Tory wars
and a conspiracy which was pro-British and anti-Revolutionary known as the Lewellyn Conspiracy.
Any information on him or this interesting episode in American History would be appreciated.
